Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian who has been around for some time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. She was on QI, with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is a popular Irish actor, writer and comedian. After appearing in bit parts on a number of Irish and British TV shows from 2009, Bea was able to begin her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. The year 2012 saw her begin appearing on a variety of sitcoms and sketch shows. Following her win in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to be booked regularly for different panel shows, where she is now a regular. She has been a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016 and she is an extremely popular contestant on the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The parents of her are Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has a younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she was the first woman ever to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny award. Her surname honors the memory of her late father. Aisling Claiodhnadh, born on March 16, 1984, from Kildare, County Kildare. The father of Bea was Brian was a vet for horses who committed suicide aged three. However, she didn't discover the reason for her father's death until 13 years later. She chose the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father who passed away. She also wrote an article for The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher jockey trainer and former professional jockey. The family was fascinated by horses and race meetings. When she was a child, Bea employed as an instructor in the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she wasn't keen on the sport of racing as a job, and enjoyed performing.
